Highmark Mann Center for the Performing Arts

As Highmark Mann prepared to celebrate its 50th anniversary on the historic grounds of the 1876 Centennial Exposition, the organization saw an opportunity to rethink the role of a performing arts campus.

As a freelancer with the Crafted Action team, I helped design and deliver a multi-year Experiential Master Plan® across a wide variety of interactive exhibits.

Satell Centennial Wall East

For this sprawling 5,000 square foot LED storytelling canvas, I curated and designed a 7 minute historical film and 15 minutes of show content.

As motion designer on the Proving Ground: The First 250 Years of the American Experiment, I was tasked with bringing historical imagery to life in a way that felt natural, respectful, and beautiful.

In order to achieve this, I developed a node based workflow to allow me to achieve consistency while creating sequences that would otherwise be impossible.

Mann Jukebox

Knowledge comes with a reward.

Visitors first answer trivia questions about Highmark Mann’s history. Get the answer right, and they unlock control of the digital jukebox, selecting from fifty iconic songs performed throughout the venue’s history.

The playlist spans generations—from Eugene Ormandy and the Philadelphia Orchestra to “Weird Al” Yankovic—transforming historical knowledge into a shared musical experience that fills the Hall of Fame and connects today’s visitors with decades of unforgettable performances.

Built with Rive

Much of the Jukebox experience was created in Rive, allowing me to make beautiful boutique animations and interactions, and seamlessly hand them off to developers for easy integration.
