I make big things move.
Then I teach you how.

I’m Nick Greenawalt, a freelance experiential motion designer and creative director based in Philadelphia and New York City. A designer who also hits “post.”

Beyond the rectangle

Domes, buildings, touchscreens, media walls—sometimes the screen isn’t a rectangle.

Concept through execution

On Franklin’s Spark, I worked on concepts, narration, audio direction, prototypes, and final animation.

Systems behind the spectacle

NBA Quick Hands meant 12 screens, 43 teams, and nearly 1,000 renders. I built a template system so that didn’t become a nightmare.

My own creative playground

Projection experiments, social videos, and Million Dollar Toilet give my stranger ideas somewhere to go. Yes, the toilet is a real project.

100M+ views

My projection-mapped experiments and other original videos have passed 100 million views. That feedback loop makes me better at knowing what earns attention—and what gets ignored.

The Nick in Motion by Nick

Freelance designer.
Content creator.
Still experimenting.

I studied graphic and interactive design at Tyler School of Art, then worked in motion design at Bluecadet. Now I run Motion by Nick: part freelance studio, part creative laboratory, part classroom.

A normal week might include animating a museum installation, shooting a sponsored video, testing a projection-mapping experiment, and explaining the weirdest part on YouTube. The common thread is curiosity—and making complicated visual systems feel simple.

I can plug into an established team or lead motion from the first sketch through final delivery.

Let’s make something move.

Start with the idea

Send the brief

Tell me what you’re making, where it lives, when it’s due, and what you can spend. References and technical specs help.

Define the job

Find the right fit

We’ll figure out what I should own, what your team already has covered, and what needs to ship.

Make it happen

Design, test, animate

Then we design, prototype, animate, test, and revise until it works on the actual screen, wall, building, or whatever strange canvas we’re dealing with.
